I remember when CAPS blogs were filled with a new player taunting SpecBear and saying they will be at the top in no time. There were usually about 5 a day for a while.

I remember when TastyLunch was sub 20 and binv271827 was above 90.

I remember when chk made a long only portfolio.

I remember when CAPS had under 30,000 players and more along the lines of 15,000 active.

I don't remember this, but seeing Mr. C as a spokesman for the Camel brand cigarrettes would have been a hoot.

CAPS could use a new advertising idea. Don't sell out and go with a "sexy spokeswoman" selling the hot stocks of the week..... unless you must. The email adds that I get have become a minor blip in my day when checking emails. I would rather read a blog by binve, anchak, tastylunch, or any of my other favorite players than taking the 20 to 30 minutes to read the article coming through.

With our technology advances with the internet and media, I think it would be time to start sending recordings of TMF's thoughts through email. Voice recordings or even video, either way I can play it in the background while I work and listen to the thoughts of TMF and others.

I remember when Hollywood or (Dan) had recordings of players pitches and thoughts about stocks and the market. They were fun and informative with a creative slant in each video.

A little trivia never hurt: Who said this statement?

A person who decides to not read is no better off than a person that cannot read.

That was fun! I miss it

The long only portfolio (chk999longonly) is still running. I've been working on some software to make it easier to manage.

ac- Those videos were fun. I had a couple of fun ideas to do, but I couldn't find anybody that would actually participate in videoing a burning naked guy running into the pond screaming his head off about a stock being on fire. Probably worked out for the best. Incidentally, I think I remember you being underwater at one point as well, but then you took off like a bat outta hell. It's been fun watching and learning from your ideas.

binve- I remember when you got binv'd and still held onto the port instead of going into hybernation. binv271828 and I have had some fun discussions in the past.

chk- I know, longonly is still one of my favorites that I watch regularly. Great port and it came in long only even during some really rough times for the market and held tight. Nicely done.

Hollywood Dan is the shizzle. I miss the "manpassion" as he called it.

Yeah Specbear is no longer hated (or maybe even present?). The bears viewpoint has been vinidcated over the last two years. it's not as weird to be a bear on CAPS. Evidence I guess that the easy shorting money is now gone.

Yeah once you get the scoring system down it's not terribly hard to right the ship from the sub 20 zone, even if you are reckless as I am :) Never thought I'd crack the top 100 for awhile but hey why not? Persistance pays off :)

I do miss a lot of the top CAPS personalities of late 2007-early 2008 era. The new guys are great too (especially Portefeuille), but that was a pretty special group. Sometimes I wonder if the Floridabuilder cultists all drank kool-aid after he semi-retired. Dude was a rockstar, I bet he had real life groupies. :)

Doesn't seem like much of the old guard is still active. Haven't Demondoug or Gracipian even for awhile now.

TMF does have video, or they did. I remember seeing some TMFBent thoughts in those.... They were pretty decent stuff.
