I have found a financial bright spot! Well, in my opinion it is; American Physicians Service Group, Inc. (AMPH). Through their subsidiaries they provide medical professional liability insurance services for physicians and other healthcare providers, primarily in Texas. They have made a reputation for themselves by steering away from questionable securities
Although I am not attracted to financial stocks I have been flirting with their stats. And if I may say so, they are sexy.
Share Price: 20.67
Market Cap: 143.21
Fwd P/E: 7.95
Profit Margin: 25.64%
ROE: 13.86
Total Cash: 22.06M (3.16 per share)
Total Debt: 0
Inside Ownership: 9.03%
Average Volume: 13,600
One stat that is off putting is the Quarterly Revenue Growth YOY of -23.6% and Quarterly Earnings Growth of -59.10%. In the age we live in that could be a lot worse.
I am a huge fan of small caps. I love to find ones that have the numbers above. With so many larger financial corporations are being punished by shareholders I believe that smaller niche players like AMPH will gain market share and grow moving forward. I am VERY tempted to move outside my circle of knowledge and purchase a chunk of this for my Roth.
I invite you to share your thoughts and opinions on this or other small caps that have driven you to distraction .
Foolishly Yours,
Cato
P.S. – Please, no discussions on underwear. You know who you are.
