First of All....anyone who KNOWING leaks classified and sensitive government documents putting our or our assets lives in jeopordy should be strung up by their privates in some public square for all to see.......if reasonable due process is determined they are guilty of treason or spying.

That said...do any of you fellow sheep really belive WikiLeaks actually exists?

Yesterday, The Department of Homeland Security shut down a bunch of websites for file sharing....simply file sharing movies and music.

Do you really think if those "highly classified" documents really weren't "supposed" to be released.......they wouldn't have been blocked? Nothing, and I mean nothing gets before you that shouldn't see......at least for very long.

Obviously you guys don't have many friends at the NSA.......

Including Alstry's blog....;)

You guys should read more Vinnie Flynn books....it puts the current environment in perspective.

One always fears the slipperly slope...  The power to selectively hide information is an awesome one.  That we should all agree upon.

Depending on your relationship to the information in question, and with the people controlling it,  you may either see it as an act of evil, a necessary evil, a moral imperative, or some other shade of gray.

All I know is there are probably more than a few people in the world who wish that Beijing, Pyongyang, and Tehran had their equivalent of Wikileaks.  My intention is not to make a more equivalence only to point out the shoe looks different depending on what foot it is on.

A little off subject since I have the day off- I'm curious when you think that people- in a general sense- will really start to feel Alstrynomics. I guess I could say I felt it 3 years ago when I went back to school after my customers started cutting back their spending. With 400K people losing jobs every month- that's a lot of people "feeling". Food prices are going up- but other consumer item prices have stayed stable- probably at eroding profit margins. I imagine many stores are holding out for the holiday season hoping for a holiday miracle.

I imagine one place we might start feeling alstrynomics is the cost of borrowing (interest rates) is going to have to go up for banks to cover their losses. A friend of mine who travels quite a bit was commenting the lack of airline "deals" at the moment.

Just curious how you think the average person who is working, trying to do the right thing in his/her own micro world, will feel the change in the next... lets say 6 months.

Same thing crossed my mind today re. Wikileaks ... there's an agenda behind these 'leaks' ... just another way to take America down a notch in the eyes of the world.  What I find laughable is that they are announced up front and the media anticipates the 'leaks' for days.

Oh, and I'm so glad DHS is spending precious resources trying to shut down knock-off Prada bag dealers .... talk about WTF!

And Obama's pay 'freeze' saves a measly $5B ... just smoke 'n mirrors, that's all.

Green Shoots?  More like green s&%ts!

small rant - Clinton did the same - "froze" salaries for a small group of people on his Inauguration Day.  Nice quick photo op.  Then, just as quickly forgotten...except by the poor saps who didn't get another raise for the next 8 years.  Lovely quick 5 minute photo op, headline - tomorrow it will line the trash and a lot of families will be stretching a thin budget thinner....

His smoke and mirrors, someone else's budget dilemma
