April 20, 2010 – Comments (4) | RELATED TICKERS: JRN , MNI , MEG

If you ever read any of my Media is HOT posts, you know what I'm talking about.

I'm crazy in love with media stocks.

Why?

Just today (as of 12:20 PM), JRN is up 12%, MNI, GTN, MEG are all up 7%,...

In my CAPS portfolio, I'm now up 106 points on MNI, 42 on GTN, and 28 on JRN.

And please check out the comment# 3 in my post "Media, what are you smoking" from last Friday.

In that post I said it's time to get into MEG, and I picked MEG in CAPS on Monday morning.

MEG was up 6.6% yesterday, and is up 7% today.

If that is not giving love back, I don't know what is...

p.s. Media, let's get a room... :)

I've browsed these and similar blogs from time to time...  and so far have yet to see you offer up an explanation for why media is hot...

Wouldn't it be good to know the motive so that you can assess once the hotness is, or is about to be, fully realized?

Are you banking on advertizing getting back to XXX% of some previous value?  Increase of XXX% consumers?  etc.

Or allow me to throw out a screwball conspiracy theory...  Media is hot because the major I-Banks are bidding up these stocks in order to buy-off favorable coverage...  Unless and until you offer a more credible explanation, I say that one stands.

brickcityman, it's a love story...

I don't expect you to understand.

But I will try to explain it to you some day...

p.s. Btw., as of 2:00 PM, MEG is up 10%.

brickcityman, dragonlz as with many in the market does NOT use fundamentals.  It's all about his version of reading the charts. Actually, it's his two year old that sits in his lap while he's doing it. A gurgle is a winner, a fart is a loser.

Simple as that.  Nothing more, nothing less. Just that there are more gurgles than farts, which is a good thing when you have a two year old in your lap.

I thinks sometimes, however, the gurgles and farts can come in rapid succession and dragonlz gets confused, so don't blame the child......the child has a much better pick win ratio than Crammer....... or most "anal"ysts...whose gas always stinks.
