front running and the "caps" game:
Have a look this post (also see comments #1,2,4,11,13,14,15,17,18 of that post!).
You should think about this issue before in any way "following" any "advice" or calls on "small volume stocks/ETFs" ...
This is the part of that post that is on the volume issue:
... , but we have had a question about setting up a real life money account and volume on .PKs. My friend here in town is a successful chartist, and part of his screen is to demand $70,000 a day from his screen. Now CBEH is worth $4.10 and traded 16,530 shares yesterday, coming to $67,773, which would have slid under my friends screen, but essentially fits his profile.Of course i posted UC's pick, but does anyone want to talk more about limiting .PK, or .OB picks to volume? how much?
The front running issue is discussed in the comment section of that post.

I appreciate these points... but am a bit disinterested in it in the CAPS context; what is your opinion about a volume cutoff for stocks in real life? First Majestic for instance... Thx --Vincent
Just wanted to thank you for the Hendry links. I spent well over an hour watching every one and following your links from pillar to "post" LOL
The guy is great! A little snarky and out of line rude sometimes but still a refreshing voice. Is there a particular way I can find him as he surfaces in the media? I've set up a "comprehensive" Google alert but may miss him since he's UK based?
Question for you. Do you know why he would still be so bullish on US T-bills? Is it because he's figuring that devaluation is relative therefor it's still a safer bet altho maybe not an "absolute" safe or too profitable one? I know he stressed preserving wealth as a main point several times saying he'd take a sure 6% over an unlikely anything else. I think he's a little over my head yet. I have trouble following some of points which seem to be in a kind of short hand that sophisticated viewers probably just "get".
I did follow "I don't pick bottoms-monkeys pick bottoms" which was hilarious!
Also I made it 1/4 of the way thru your other link
"Asset Prices and Monetary Policy: John Y Campbell.
Fascinating but I'm really having to concentrate to follow it.
I just hope you aren't expecting 500 words on it anytime Oh teacher and revealer of finance mysteries :)
BTW, I recommended you for a new charm the "link" on that recent blog on suggestions for new charms. Since so much of how you seem to contribute is thru the blogs of others the lightbulb and scribe don't capture your contribution IMO. There should be one for helping correct the poor assumptions of others in blog replies and posts. Like a ruler maybe? Like in Catholic schools for knuckle rapping? Or a little PHD certificate signifying "instructive/teacher" LOL
Anyway, just wanted you to know one more Caps guy is very appreciative of your amazing arsenal of sources and links and your tireless efforts to instruct..
All the best
First Majestic for instance... Thx --Vincent
Well if we had opened up an account that allows us to trade stocks listed on the TSX, we would buy FR.TO since it has an average volume of 300,000+. A lot of these PKs are traded with higher volume on other exchanges such as the TSX.
