update on some of the stocks I keep mentioning.

FACT.

It might be a good idea to "keep selling FACT as it keeps rising". This advice is directed towards those that bought FACT shares before 09/04/09. I do not recommend selling short FACT. If you don't have FACT shares it might be "too late" to buy. I still "like" FACT, I just like the shares less as it keeps rising on "no news".

VMW.

I still think it is a good idea to have some VMW shares. But unless you are a hardcore VMW fan I would suggest buying EMC as the "cheap way" to get some VMW exposure. If you have VMW shares and are not a hardcore VMW fan you might consider switching to EMC unless tax issues make this move "unreasonable".

EMC.

Still probably my favourite stock. Somewhat boring, but I like it enough to feel comfortable with EMC calls being my by far largest position and EMC shares being my second largest position.

Porsche (preferred shares (PAH3.DE)).

Compared to the good old days Porsche has become somewhat boring, hehe ... I don't really follow the story that much nowadays and so refrain from making any suggestions. I still have some calls on Porsche preferred shares.

VW (and VW preferred (VOW3.DE)).

I still don't like VW common shares and still like VOW preferred shares. I still have some calls on VW preferred shares.

CRME.

I still like them and the only reasonable way to "play it" is probably to buy a few shares and forget about them. Hopefully a "pleasant surprise" will follow someday ...

I do have calls on PAH3 and VOW3.

ATPG and CRME are the ones I am going to buy next (ceteris paribus).

Thanks for the timely response.  It's always interesting to see what people are buying or planning on buying, especially the top players.

To be honest it looks like they have nothing there. I read their reports, and they were comparing their drug to placebo. That made me laugh, there is already another drug on the market, so why not compare with that one.

Unless port is a pharmacist or a physician, I do not think it is very bright to dabble in the biotech sector. Yes you got luck with human genome, but it does not alway raining roses.

Port you have a lot of trash stocks in your portfolio. I don't know why this is the first time I bothered to look at your stocks.

I am still quite satisfied with the performance of my biotech sector calls. I am a theoretical physicist with rather limited knowledge in the field of biotechnology.

zzlangerhans is the physician you might be looking for.

Is that so?

As a theoretical physicist I am obviously not an expert in any of the sectors I "dabble" in.

I'm interested to see how portefeuille does with the "trash" picks from here on out.  I think it's possible to buy a basket of companies that don't make money as long as you have a couple of breakout stars that make up for the rest, as long as the expected value per pick is positive on average (far from exact science, of course).  It's not a game I'm willing to play myself, but I'm interested to see how others do, like portefeuille.  Again, it'll be a lot harder with picks starting today.
