Ex: do you have access to a source that follows the value of the ex-dividend stocks after they pay. The value of the stock is reduced by the dividend payment  on the day it pays and some stocks probably don't recapture their pre div value..ever. I can see the the short term profit of buying high yielding div stocks if they don't take a year to recapture their value. What is your approach to owning high yielding div paying stocks?
