Will Facebook's IPO be the biggest IPO in American history? Probably not," said David Kirkpatrick, author of "The Facebook Effect." "But it will certainly be, by far, the biggest Internet or technology IPO we've ever seen."
The question more like it is will we end up wasting our money investing? Honestly I am on the fence about this one. Growth I think has slowed down, and they might be past their prime. Lets take a look at GOOGLE ( GOOG ) for instance, although it was a hiuge homerun in 2004. What has it really done recently. How much longer do think that will continue to grow? Myself, I see the gas running out soon, and the tank becoming empty. But I could be wrong.
Facebook doesn't seem to be a household name like Coke, or Harley Davidson. But can it become one over the next 10 years? 10 years, yes I mentioned long term. Now as I quote a recent CNET article
"Personally, I'll be pretty surprised if that's true. Although Facebook's IPO filing points to it making some serious money (profit has more than quadrupled in the last two years), growth is reportedly slowing. After all, how much growth potential is there in a company that already has 845 million users, per its filing? I don't doubt the company will be successful for a long time, but I suspect the days of hockey-stick growth are over."
My question is could it all be true? Please weigh in with your thoughts, I want opnions, and honesty on what you all think about the 5 Billion dollar filing.
