Favorite (but relatively unknown) CAPS Players?

Have you found any gems on this site?  No, I am not talking about stocks or ETFs, but rather, individual players.

As one of the more popular players on this site (as judged by number of groupies) other players have multiple ways of stumbling across my portfolio and deciding whether I am a good stock picker or not.  Same is true for top 10 Fools or ones that blog all the time.  But what about some lower rated people that don't blog often (or ever)?  Obviously there are some that know how to pick a winner or at least articulate the pros and cons of a stock that are not as well known.

So my question is - Have you found any of these individual player gems?

If so, tell us who they are and why you think they are worth following.

(I am sorry, I never really "fully" read the posts I am commenting on)

camistocks is entertaining and knows what he is talking about. The same holds true for zzlangerhans (mr. biotech!).

BTW--my top 3 active picks are all green thumbs now, so I can in fact find winning green thumbs--if they hit me in the face. ;)

GMX - this is a debate for a different post, but being up a combined 100 points on 3 green thumbs doesnt really support the idea that you can consistently pick winning green thumbs.  You'll need some more time on CAPS to prove that one.  :)

For lesser known players (so far anyway) I'd nominate Anticitrade: and be sure to check his website of picks. Lots of lesser known small cap & foreign equities with some bigger players as well.

Good post good idea to compare favorites. I spend 30-45 mins a day with the Favorite Player actions alert to get ideas, so favorites are a key component of Caps value IMO

Well I have not been on the blog side of Caps or making many picks recently, but one relatively new player I have had my eye on that seems to be a more long term stock picker is abatti.

I'll add an "Amen" on Anticitrade. I'm biased, as the system's developer is a friend of mine, but he has made a believer out of me. I don't play CAPS here, but I do play the same type of game on Investopedia (under the same username), and I signed up for that game specifically as a way to test the site. Out of the top 20 or so picks on the site as of 4/14/09, I picked the 16 that weren't flagged with some sort of "this one is an anomaly based on incomplete/bad financial data" message. I did no further research (lazy, I know, but I just wanted to test the system).

Of those 16 stocks, one has been a complete dog, two have fluttered back and forth between outperforming and underperforming, and the other 13 have been very strong. As of COB yesterday, all but the aforementioned dog are outperforming the S&P, and my dollar-cost-averaged gain for the entire portfolio is over 24%. Certainly a short timeframe and relatively small sample size, but it seems to be dealing a blow to all of those B-school professors who preached efficient markets theories to us so vehemently.
