If you really want to KNOW how bad things are.....really listen to the first couple minutes of President Obama speech.  Listen to how quickly unemployment is skyrocketing....how bad things are and the spillover effects.

Soon you will see the light...and think of Alstrynomics as your batteries.....just good ole average energy producing cells.

The fact that the President is being honest with his assessment of condtions is a first step.  We shall see tomorrow if there is the possibility of a second step.

I agree.  Forget about what guys like Kudlow say.  There are no freakin' mustard seeds.  We've got to take our punishment like a man (or woman) and eventually we'll pull thru.

And how refreshing it is to listen to a president who actually digests tough questions and responds to them thoughtfully...

Agreed, he's a great speaker and addressed some good questions.  That was a great find.

Thank you Alstry, for sharing the video and for remaining consistent with the delivery of much needed continued economic education and the showering of numerous punctuations!

Yes, how refreshing it is to have:

(1) a President not only hold a press conference, but to do it within a month of being elected and to take some good tough questions.

(2)  a President hold a town hall meeting earlier the same day in which no one was pre-screened or asked (nay, forced!) to sign a "Loyalty Oath" just to get in and speak to the man, and hold the meeting in an area of the country that did not vote for him!

Impressive. Let's hope the honesty and frankness continues.

UBS AG Tuesday .....said it will cut 15,000 jobs by the end of this year in its loss-making investment bank.

Nissan cutting 20,000 jobs.

Qwest cutting 11% of workforce.

Until we slow the job cuts, concentric contraction accellerates.  Right now it apprears job cutting is speeding up.

Does this mean you guys agree with the stimulus package?

At first it sounded like a stump speech, until he stopped using the teleprompter, then it just sounded like a typical president trying to sell something...but what I could not understand is why.  He does not need too, he holds all the cards.  He can pass this with zero republicans voting yes.  Why didn't a reporter ask him about that?
