Finally! Boost in Oil Prices due to a Hurricane (and "Failure is American")

August 27, 2008 – Comments (4)

Seems like high time we had a good storm to stir things up in the Gulf (with apologies to those of you who lived thru Katrina and others).  Now oil companies finally have a good excuse to raise oil prices!  Now maybe I can close out some of my energy-related picks with positive CAPS scores before the FED manipulates the market again to bring oil back down so the market can go up.  (I call this the yo-yo theory.)

Did anyone else hear about the latest plan by our federal guvmt to bail out the Big 3?  I heard it on Squawk Box this AM.  They're talking about a plan to "bail out" the auto-makers now!

Best part about the story was the person who emailed to complain. The email said something like "Let 'em fail. Failure is good, failure is cleansing, failure is American".  Gotta love this country, and all the fools in it!

Enigma you seem to be days behind on bringing this to our attention, its sort of almost old news. If you look at my blogs from days ago, you'll see my opposition to using tax payer money to fund GM's, Ford's, and the privately held Chrysler's past, current, and future failures and losses.

As to the storm, its about time. But as to the climb up in prices, they seem relatively mild compared to what a real run up could and should look like.

I would rather use tax payer money to fund Toyota, Honda, and other sucessful auto entities, they seem to be the only ones creating more and more US auto jobs here, but guess what, they are not the ones going and pandering and begging for money from these pandering politicians who would look to screw 6 out of 7 americans to benefit the one out of 7 special interest groups of the american auto industry, who through massive loans have remained afloat and who now seek to survive thru super cheap loan guarantees from our ever shrinking tax revenues.

Until you fail, you'll never really understand what it means to really be sucessful.

Let these C suckers fail.

Unfortunately the small powerful unions will get in bed with their employers and 6 out of seven tax payers will get screwed to benefit the one out of seven involved in the american auto industry.

Lordz - I ignore your posts and blogs. You seem to have way too much time on your hands and very little to say that is worth the effort to read.

But please call your legislators and flat out yell and tell them politicians that if they foolishly choose to send our money to these no good beggars in suits, that we as citizens will stop supporting them and will vote them out of office !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its sad when 3 suits from all three loser american auto companies collectively head to washington dc to beg for billions and billions of our tax dolllars..

Gee I wonder if I was to go to washington could I get a dollar let alone billions, I don't think I would even get past the gate let alone an audience with these politicians.
