Fire Congress for the Great Looting

Not either party in particular.  Most of them need to go.  How about we vote out everybody who was in office in 1999 & 2000 that voted for the Gramm-Bliley-Leach Bill and Commodities Futures Modernization Act, and especially those now lambasting Bernanke for somehow being to blame for the financial collapse.

Those pricks in Congress caused the collapse in collaboration with a bunch of corporate crooks, both the CEOs who export jobs and the financial hooligans who leveraged and sold bogus securities for bonuses.  Not only does Wall Street and a bunch of corprotacracy CEO crooks need jail time, but so do a lot of politicians.  It was the greatest looting in history this past decade, and they have the gall to try to distract us with political rhetoric and make us pick a party's side.  Only thing worse is that they get away with it so well, because around half of us still stupidly glom onto party affiliation.

Here's the side I pick.  Because the pols are almost all bought and paid for crooks and flunkies, I pick the side of middle American independents who want to responsibly work to make the country and our lives better.  I'm not sure what party that is, but I'm sure it's not the Democrats or Republicans.

I'd like to see the centrists- which in my opinion are the most honest and smart of the bunch (which might not be saying much)- leave each party and make a new party that supports term limits, balanced budgets when the economy is growing (deficits should be limited to recessions by law), a return to personal freedoms and responsibilities, and limits on the welfare state (i.e. if you are down on your luck, we'll help you get education or skills, and even feed, cloth, shelter and doctor you, but not forever, and contingent on you getting education and skills to pull yourself up and contribute to society).

Vote them all out!!!  Start at the primary level.  Start Congress over.
