FloridaBuilder and Alstry neck and neck

Going into the home stretch....Alstry SPF is gaining some serious ground on WCI.  Alstry has pulled within seven lengths with only a short distance to go.  Can Alstry pull of the impossible?  FloridaBuilder has never been wrong on his BK calls.  Alstry has no contacts to give him that extra boost.  Can sheer determination beat out brains, beauty and brawn?

Its still a long shot but do you believe in miracles?

Sick, but at this point, I can imagine some headlines like this in the next week:

1. SPF has no liquidity problems, says Paulson.
2. SPF is doing fine, says Cox.
3. The worst is over for housing says NAR.
4. The housing correction is contained and won't impact the economy, says Bernanke.
5. Over the weekend: "Things deteriorated overnight for SPF and WCI, they are now facing bankruptcy. TOL and RYL will buy them for $0.50 and the Fed will guarantee any bad loans up to $50 billion says Bernanke" :)

Alstry, you stand no chance. Cramer just report that SPF will be fine.

Actually, based on my quick review of the waiver....I think my chances of beating  FB are getting better.  The waiver only gives SPF access to about $75 million.  Based simply on JV  liabilities, payables, self funding mortgages, and buildout for backlog....SPF will likely not be able to make it to the end  of the month without a capital injection.

Do you still believe????????

The money has been made and both these companies have been picked to the bone. I know you're playing for pride but at this point the only thing that remains is the misery of the people about to find themselves unemployed on the cusp of a recession.

With the Cramer call (if he in fact said that) I'd definitely give you the edge but I think decency demands you two call it a draw and move on...
