Fool Home Page: Latest Buzz

The new home page looks okay. I have to admit to not understanding the reason behind remodeling the look, but to each his own. My only suggestion as to how it should be changed is to offer a larger portion to the Latest Buzz section. I would like to see the most recent activity expand from five or six to twenty or thirty.

I second that, emphatically. I log on frequently to see the latest discussions...it's my number one reason for visiting the site. I like to see where the conversations are happening and who's contributing.

@ #1 I thought the indexes at the top were part of a banner ad for Vanguard.

I wish the blogs were easier to navigate. I don't like to always be taken back to page 1 if I've been catching up on page 5. I think outoffocus has made the same complaint.

@ #3 Evidently I haven't adjusted to daylight savings yet. Vanguard gives streaming quotes for selected stocks not the indexes. Sorry for my mistake,100ozRound. (P.S. Does your name have to do with a round of ammo? My brothers are hunters and they discuss guns and ammo with great enthusiasm.)

I agree with comment #1 and just posted a blog with that same question. I do not understand why the indexes were moved off of the CAPS pages.

I completely agree about the "latest buzz" section. I just started blogging and interacting on here... and it's the main reason I've been visiting everyday for the last few weeks. I've gotta admit, I'm a little disappointed by the new homepage.

Before the change, I liked how it was so easy to see what people were talking about. And I also felt like there was a better chance that people would see my blogs and decide to comment. I'm curious to see if the reduced buzz-box will mean reduced commentary and interaction. I hope not! Cause it's been very helpful for me.

Thems my 2 cents.

Have a great day Cato and everyone!

Reduced buzz-box, reduced interest in coming here.  Change it back.

Truth, I admit to feeling the same way. The reduced buzz box is hampering my ability to enjoy the blog feature of TMF. They need to remedy this situation.

not real crazy about the top pick icon look being turned into a check mark either.

Thanks for the comments.  The new version of the Fool.com home page is in test mode and I'm sure that the reduced buzz box is being evaluated based relative to the other changes.  I like more buzz too! :)

And if Fool.com moves away from putting indexes in the top of the page, we can consider putting them up in the top right-hand corner of CAPS pages perhaps.

Lastly, regarding the Top Pick icon.  We are nearly finished with taking the first step towards Global CAPS, with the integration of the London Stock Exchange.  The $ for top pick won't work in the new global market place. ;)

Scrooge McDuck or Uncle Scrooge is called Dagobert Duck or Onkel Dagobert over here and he takes a bath in Goldtalern, but it is still the $ sign that frequently appears in his eyes ...

Jake,

Thank you for your input. I hope they see fit to smooth out this part of TMF. I find it interesting that the London exchange is going to be added.

One of the things I've been interested in trying out is a page that just has the latest buzz - say the last 100 comments and posts, RSS style - which we could link to off the home page. Is that something that would be useful, or is seeing the buzz on the home page more important than seeing a lot of buzz?
