Dear Fools, I am a relatively new member and wanted to express serious concern as I have seen a number of your recommended stocks plummet in excess of 50%.  I am lucky enough to own, TPX, MAKO, BPI, NFLX, DATE, PACB and ZIP.   Don't get me wrong there has been a number of positive stock recomendations but none of which come close to the massive negative returns you have generated with these picks.  Can you give me a reason to stick with you guys? Thank you, Sincerely,Matt

Are you talking about the recommendations from the various paid newsletters, or stuff people have blogged about?

A bottom line is that stock prices go up and down all the time. Becoming a successful investor involves learning how to use the fluctuations to buy stuff cheap and sell it dear, not the reverse.

Why did you buy those stocks?

This mix looks like some of the advisory stocks, but some do not.  Articles on CAPS are for information to do further DD.  CAPS members, even the highly ranked ones are not professionals for the most part.  Picks are a snapshot in time.

If you're following a paid subscription then you need to go to their board and get updates and reasoning, and again, a snapshot in time.

If you are following random articles and picks by CAPS members hten you need to stop following and try to work in your own DD and take into account the context, timeframe, etc.

Overall, there is trading and investing. You need to find your groove, which is what CAPS is good for, and then settle into it.  Following blindly, paid subscription or random CAPS articles and players is not what this system is setup for.

Good luck. If you give us a specific on an individual pick, and why you made it, perhaps we can help.  Overall, many equities, including most, if not all of those you mention, have a high beta, high risk and should be treated accordingly.

Good luck.
