I've been torn away from the blogs by a rapid-fire round of earnings reports. Here's what I've been up to:

Copper is Conducting Some Excitement - PCU earnings and recent acquisition.

Coal Fires Massey's Earnings - MEE may be a bargain here, but there are better buys in coal.

Even Titanium Melts in a Recessionary Blaze - RTI International may survive, but not thrive.

Don't Let Heavy Machinery Weigh You Down - Terex shows bad news is already priced in.

Your Bridge Over Troubled Water - Arch Coal is a strong buy here IMHO.

A Gaping Hole in the Side of DryShips -  be sure to read the comments section. :)

The Scariest Balance Sheet of All - You may have seen this in a seperate blog post.

The Gold Purchase Heard 'Round the World - Newmont's $1B purchase is a watershed event, period!

Does USG Have the Eye of the Tiger? - I think not.

U.S. Steel: Under-Stimulated Steel - 5% for infrastructure?.. Are you kidding me?

Railroads' Brakes Beginning to Screech - NSC and other rail stocks face broken tracks ahead

Strung Out on Crack Spreads and Goodwill - Valero idles refiners and cuts to 70% capacity

The Scrappiest Steelmaker of all - This company is SO WELL-MANAGED! See comments.

Converting Dirty Coal into Clean Profit - Peabody is still by far my top pick in the sector

Worst Stock for 2009: Best Buy - Run away from this stock as fast as you can!

Less Gravy on the Train - CNI earnings keep builds a stronger case against railroads.

Get a Better Deal Than Buffett - BNI Earnings fall in-line with conclusions from CSX earnings.

Bound for Glory, But This Train May Stop - CSX raised the warning flags for the entire sector.

The Golden Portfolio - Yo Mama even knows you need Yamana. :)

MAG Silver Eludes Pursuer ... for Now - Fresnillo's takeunder bid was an insult to shareholders.

Goldcorp Remains a Gold Mine - You just can't argue with that balance sheet, and low costs, too! :)

When the Schnitz Hits the Fan - Schnitzer Steel's quarter was abominable.

Peabody Cross-Trains for the Ultimate Contest - Leading the way with production cuts - positive.

Too Much of a Good Thing for Miners - I still think Q1 earnings will stink for several miners.

Picking Your Pet Stock -  A survey of your responses to this blog post. Thanks for sharing!

Gold Will be Fine in 2009 - Just in case you weren't aware... I'm bullish on gold. :)

Let me know if you find these posts with listed links useful. Your comments on any of the above articles are always welcome.

Thanks for reading,

Christopher

Back when GWB took the Oath a friend of mine & I were talking and said - forget all the noise and just buy oil - after all W is an oil man.  We were right.    Would of - should of - could of....

Now - i look at this massive debt and increased money supply - and we said just buy gold.  We have, and we will continue to average in.
