Essentially, your last reply to me is calling everyone out there working two jobs reckless, irresponsible, and stupid for taking 'needless' risks working too many hours at a 'dangerous' job. - truthisntstupid

This comment of yours has been bothering me a little bit. I don't think you are stupid fpr working two jobs. It is only a needless risk if there is better choices for you - the same pay in 50 hours instead of 68. I am not sure how safe a kitchen is when you told me your job is safe, but driving home tired probably less so. Most people take some risk and get away with it, some don't. And the moment you get hurt, you are no longer industrious and hardworking, you become stupid for taking risks. As a matter of fact, I made it clear I only work one - I just get a lot of hours. 

I enjoy what I do. I don't usually feel tired until I've been home awhile.

You are a cretin for forcing me to defend myself for doing the best I can.  .

Choices are limited where I live, and the only way to get ahead is to maximize my value to my employer.

My employer DOES NOT expect me to work every minute I'm on the clock without ever sitting down.   I do it.  She more likely wishes I wouldn't push so hard, but she also knows every minute I'm on the clock I'm working, whether it's 8 hours or sixteen.  

I've outlasted a lot of worthless lazy people, and in seven years have missed maybe 2 days of work. 

Drop it. Like I said, there are many people working 2 jobs to try and get ahead.   This only bugged you because of my disdain for the 40-hour overtime law.  

So again I ask:  

How many of you people out there working 2 jobs get time-and-a-half for every hour you work at your second job because you already worked 40 hours at your first one?

What if you needed more money and could get the extra hours without having to hunt for a second job?  What if there wasn't a second job to be had where you lived?  

Dolt.
