Former Canadian Finance Minister passed away
Well, sorry the guy passed away, but his budgets left me in distress for reversing Canada's strong commitment to controlling debt and feeling hopeless about voting. I suppose the hopeless about voting was not just his fault, the hopeless about voting was there was simply no one with a long term vision of what would be best for Canada, and what my generation had paid to reduce Canadian debt for utterly nothing.
My sentiments in the comments of this post, http://caps.fool.com/Blogs/canada-10-year-budget/351868, have not change at all.
I truly care for my local MLA where I live and I clearly remember the first time I met him during my first year here in the North, in 2008. He was campaigning to me and talking about how great the budget was and I completely tore into him. At the time I had estimated that our budget would come in at least 6 billion short, and he thought it would be a surplus, and it actually came in 33 billion short.
So, always sad to hear someone passing away, but I feel much worse about destruction to what years of hard work was finally turning around completely thrown away. And Canadians celebrated this. Oh well...
