Free Bradley Manning!

August 21, 2010 – Comments (6)

And give him a Nobel Peace Prize.  Wait, that prize for criminals, liars, and murderers.  Never mind.  Instead, let's give him a job.  Wait, he's in his early 20's with no marketable skills, so there's not much chance that any business can afford to hire him at his value.

Well, let's at least help him get out of solitary confinement.

Writes a soldier (HT to LRC):

Thought you and your readers would be interested to know that an order has come down from GEN Petraeus that Coalition Forces in Afghanistan are not to access the Wikileaks site.  This order is to be disseminated to the “lowest level,” meaning every single troop.  The justification given is that most, if not all of the recently released documents on the Afghan war, are classified.  The order explains that even after a document is made available in the public domain, it is not automatically declassified.  For this reason, all soldiers must not access lest they risk introducing classified materials onto an unclassified computer system.  Of course, all your readers know the real reason the troops are not allowed to access the site: “Truth is treason in the empire of lies.”

Bradley Manning is a hero to me.  Hopefully we'll find out that our military is not full of cowards and they'll stand up to this ridiculous regime like Bradley did.  We'll see.  So far, the Year of the Insurgent continues.

And finally we agree on something. Of course for you it is just about hating America. But I would caution the soldiers about accessing wikileaks. Their court holds them to a different standard than civilian court does. If they really have to visit the site they should do it en mass as protest against the war, or from home.

This comment lends itself to so many greats. I'll go with the following:

When did you turn into Sean Hannity?  I don't hate you because you're free, Sean.  I hate the American flag.  It's arrogant with it's 50 stars and it's red and white stripes.  What do you think that all means?  The red is symbolic of communism and the white (white flag) is for surrender.  The American flag is telling you to surrender to communism.  I want the freedom to not have a flag with too many stars and a communist message on it.

Btw, Assange has just been charged with rape.  Yeah, that sounds like something you do when you are fearful that the CIA is after you - you go out and rape someone.  Makes sense. ;) ($20 he mysteriously kills himself real soon, just like the DC madam)

And the charges against Assange have already been dropped.  Doesn't take long in the Internet age for the Ruling Class' sorry tricks to be exposed.

Hey, CIA, 1970 called. It wants its esponiage tactics back.  Might want to update that handbook.

I read the site and agree what is being done to him is BS I AM A veteran myself and it outrages me that honesty could be treated as a criminal action.
