Frontrunning Republican Liar's New Liability

Giuliani, whose campaign-sponsored lies are getting so common that they're hard to keep catalogued, has another problem. He's always been big believer in cronies, and the biggie, the one he promoted for head of Department of Homeland Security, is now being indicted on criminal charges.

Kerik is not only a crook, and failure (he was police chief in Baghdad, and ran away from his job in mere months.) He's also an unrepentent liar and self-promoter as well. (He was once on the TASER board, too!) Bernie is not a "good guy" as TASER CEO Rick Smith once tried to convince me.

I remember an interview he gave on public radio in which he talked about all the dangerous undercover narcotics work he used to do. He went on to describe a bust on one of the most dangerous corners in NYC, giving the time, and eventually, the location. Imagine my surprise to learn it wasn't actually a very dangerous place at all. It was the corner of the street where I lived. Sure, there were crack dealers there. They were everywhere. But dangerous? Please. I could have driven Bernie to 10 more dangerous neighborhoods inside 5 minutes. And contrary to Bernie's self-serving lies, this corner, despite the crack dealers, was actually quite safe. Why? Because the drug dealers who ran it didn't allow petty street crime on the block. Muggings, theft, etc. by the crackheads who wanted their fix actually took place 3-4 blocks over, on "safe" and very rich Riverside drive, or Broadway, because that's where the easy money was, and the dealers didn't care if the crackheads mugged there.

Giuliani has to be one of the worst candidates out there. The fact that he supported a loser like Kerik -- only because Kerik was his loyal driver during Rudy's rise to power -- is another strong indication that he'd be a terrible decision-maker.

Great write up, on these scum bags. What is Pat Robertson thinking supporting Rudy? There is a RUMOR on http://wonkette.com/ that they might have some incriminating video on Robertson.

Movie: Smartest Guy in the Room, said Kenneth Lay (of Enron) was going to be nominated to Dept of Energy. It seems to align with the Kerik nomination.

Why Dr Ron Paul?

He has never voted to raise taxes.

He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.

He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.

He has never voted to raise congressional pay.

He has never taken a government-paid junket.

He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.

He voted against regulating the Internet.

He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.

He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Wow. This may be the pettiest political rant I’ve ever seen. You’re complaining that Kerik busted crack dealers on your street corner instead of a corner three blocks away. Would it have been better if he left the crack heads alone?

For good measure you throw in that he’s a self promoter. Well, I can think of worse crimes than self-promotion.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that you never complained about Sandy Berger, the national security advisor under the Clintons, stealing, hiding and then destroying classified documents from the National Archives – and lying about it.

And by the way, what does any of this have to do with Taser or the stock market?

Yes, Ron Paul seems to be an ethical politcian, two words that don't usually go together.

No, I'm complaining that Kerk was pretending to be a big, danger-dodging undercover cop and doing it while bragging about working a neighborhood that wasn't dangerous at all. He's a liar and an admitted crook -- and Giuliani supported him through all of this, even when it was plainly evident what a bad man he was. This is a guy who pleaded guilty to taking gifts from mob-affiliated city contractors already. It's a guy who (like his protector and promoter, Rudy) has a track record of cheating on his wife.

Rudy is running on a platform of social conservatism and righteousness -- along with his Dick Cheny-like act of using the phrase 9-11 every 30 seconds or so. I am simply pointing out that Rudy is a liar, and can't even retract his lies once they're exposed. His history with Kerik is just another example of how little he cares about the truth, or about competence in his cronies.

He's a terrible guy, and would make an awful president.

Some Republican indeed.

Vote Ron Paul for 2008.

Heh. Yeah, I feel so sorry for Bernie. He only scored millions by dumping his TASER shares before the crummy revenue news hit the streets, leaving thousands of regular Joes holding the bag.

Maybe Bernie can get some of his mob-affiliated contractor friends to donate. Or he could pass the hat in Iraq, where all those grateful citizens would surely pony up some bucks to help defend this American Hero.
