Who doesn't see any sense in Goog's purchase of an over-the-hill Web has-been for 10x revenues.

Surely it's an attempt by GOOG to grab onto to even more pricing power than they already have.  And I'd think that pricing power is the sine qua non of  a "business case," but maybe that's just me.

I think it's smokescreen. I think MSFT is also probably giggling at the price goog paid, as it probably did after getting Goog to cough up a billion in protection money for a slice of AOL.

Also they appear to be working in orders of magnitude - 100x revs for YouTube, 10x revs for DCLK - the next big acquisition should be at 1x revs if all goes well.
