Wait until they find out that half the banks benefiting from the AIG bailout are not US banks.  lol

Better yet ask them how they feel about having more than the sum total of all those moneys being spent to support multiple individual bonuses at multiple bailed out corporations!?!?

At least those items, while dubious in value provided paychecks for mutliple individuals (researchers, construction crews, etc).  Furthermore at least in one instance (the joke telling robot) it seems the work could result in some valuable IP that could prove useful down the road.  I'm guessing some of the the others might have more redeeming qualities if examined in more detail as well.

Making sure that upper and middle level managers at GS, BAC, C, AIG, JPM get their pre-scheduled bonuses doesn't have nearly the same economic impact... at least in my eyes.

Here is the written transcript to a story I heard on NPR yesterday on this subject. If NPR reported on this a wider swath of the population was exposed than if it was just Fox News.

And.. $45 billion in subsidizes are currently slated to go to oil companies over the next decade (can anyone say profits?) -

Obama's 2011 budget is positioned to cut nine subsidies to big oil worth $45 billion.

That's not chump change.

We should focus our rage and anger at the BIG money sucks.  The subsidies to oil and agriculture, the military spending.  The small sucks of money will always be there - from both Democratic and Republican (Ted Stevens, etc) candidates.

The video above was funny and interesting.  The turtle tunnel is actually pretty cool - see Devoish's blog.  There are hundreds of turtles and other animals from a protected wildlife park being killed due to a stupid highway passing through an otherwise protected area.  This project would solve that screw up.

The research on Chinese prostitutes is just a research grant.  In the US there are lots of researches working on seemingly strange topics.  Its how we learn things.  Do you think this is silly research?  Changes are those Chinese prostitutes are a disease risk for things like HIV, hepatitus, and other life threatening diseases.
