"As late as Sunday afternoon, Mr. Gonzales himself was denying through his spokesman that he was quitting. The spokesman, Brian Rohrekasse, said Sunday that he telephoned the attorney general about the reports of his imminent resignation “and he said it wasn’t true — so I don’t know what more I can say.”"

Whole story here.

I post a lot of stuff here that's only ancillary to the markets. I think having a liar out of the attorney general's office (while his crony facilitator remains in office, making excuses for the liar) tells us a bit about what kind of leadership we've got, and why things may turn out the way they do.

The Brain and the Right Hand have now left Bush.  Who does he have left?

I feel like the current administration is like the Titanic sliding beneath the waves right now.  Everyone who's able is getting dressed in women's clothing and heading for the exits as fast as possible.

The leadership of our nation have everything to to with with the markets and the economy. It is silly to suggest otherwise.

Thank you for th post. If you have not heard of Dr Ron Paul, I think he is the first statesmen to run in 20+ years.

Why Dr Ron Paul?

He has never voted to raise taxes. He has never voted for an unbalanced budget. He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership. He has never voted to raise congressional pay.He has never taken a government-paid junket. He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch. He voted against the Patriot Act.He voted against regulating the Internet. He voted against the Iraq war.He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program. He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
