Um, wouldn't a wage crash cause deflation rather than inflation?  Cutting off farm subsidies would offset that, but I think even that would be overwhelmed by an across the board wage crash.

What I was taught was that when goods sit around unsold, the cost should drop.  Especially perishables.  Better to sell at cost or even at a small loss than to let it go to waste and eat the whole cost yourself, (barring insurance, of course).
