What is so sad is Alstry was telling you we had 50% unemployment in Architecture OVER a year ago......a year later the media reports it???

Unfortunately the rate is now approaching 70% as construction comes to a grinding halt in America.

Nobody cares......nobody wants to know the truth....Until....

Fundamental analysis or simply spinning for whatever political agenda you have?  Your predictions of 60% negatvie GDP, or 60% U2 unemplyment, or DOW 2000 to happen last year, or your whole MOAP monthly chants were all hardly from fundamental analysis.  Now all you do is over link issues that this country has dealt with since its inception. Read a financial headline from pretty much any past decade.  Inflation, unemployment, taxes, Government spending.  Issues we will always be dealing with.  But this Country seems to work its way through it.  And while some like Ron Paul may opine for the good old days of the 1880s, although I am sure African Americans would feel otherwise, you just like to cry fire.

If you want to leave then leave.  No one is forcing you.  But dragging this out with a dozen "this time I really mean I am leaving" posts is childish.

Housing is down 80%.......

Autos down 50%........

And only a small fraction of the population is working full time right now.......and that percentage is shrinking everyday.

Never in our nation's history has our government and Wall Street borrowed from its citizens OVER $4 trillion dollars in a year simply to give the money back to bankers, politicians, and citizens to create the illusion of an economy....and our economy is still crashing.

Some call such behavior a Ponzi Scheme.

Since this has NEVER happend before....if you are looking at history, you are looking in the wrong direction.

Never has our nation delt with negative family formation.

Never has our nation had 40,000,000 people dependent on food stamps.

Never has our nation had 16,000,000 people collecting unemployment.

Never has there been over 50% unemployment in architicture.

Never has housing construction or commerical real estate construction dropped either relatively or absolutely as much as in the past few years.

Soon you will wake up to learn that our entire economy was essentially not much different than on big massive Enron like accounting fraud.....and when you do, it will not be the end of the world....but you might be angry with yourself for knowing and not doing anything about it.

You just sat on your backside and let your country rot as Alstry provided the evidence to you day after day with link after link.

Shame on you....and you call yourself an American?  Is this what kind of people we have morphed into....a bunch of apathetic sheep?

I'm going to go out on a whim and say that I will go by the facts (alstry can't keep his word) over the rumors (world is ending, world is changing, etc. etc.)

If we cannot, in your words, take the government seriously, how can we take you seriously?

If you are an expert in said fraud, why are you committing it? Have you stooped down to the level of the government? I am not sure what you are implying.

"In the mean time.....enjoy grazing and for Pete's sake....stop reading my blog if you don't think it provides any benefit to you.   Further, it is about done anyway."

I read it not because it provides benefit; I read it to comment on your constant hypocrisy. As you feel that you are providing a service by posting daily summaries of layoffs without meaningful solutions, I too, would like to provide a benefit -- of the doubt.

I will say this, though. You are snooping around in an area no one 'wants' to hear or read about (but should) -- which is a positive. It is the delivery that I have an issue with -- which is no more meaningful than the fear mongers calling for the end of the world. As I and countless others have asked, you should provide meaningful solutions rather than "prepare" -- prepare what? A bunker with lots of ammo and lots of cans of beans?

Can you confirm a conspiracy theory I've been working on.

The evidence shows that Alstry is not the work of one lone fool. Rather the collected work of three different Fools. I've detected three different writing styles, and three different opinions.

This would also explain multiple posts within minutes of each other.

Best of luck to you where ever your adventure takes you.

Hey Alstry:

As a side note (I know this is Micro vs your Macro posts)  I was talking with an employee at large retail chain with many hundreds of stores and it surpised me (not really when I thought about it) how companies adapt. We may be at 10% employement but this firm made everyone but store managers part time employees across the board- not sure what the threshold is 36 hours? They changed the way they create the displays at the store so they only have to pay someone $7.50 an hour versus paying supplier $60.00 an hour. Thousands of paper cuts. Literally over the past couple of years companies are cutting everything exept for those at the top levels so the official employment number may not give the whole picture.

Alstry isn't doing the whining/complaining here... All of the people calling Alstry an idiot are doing the whole lot of that.

Varchild can testify here that to *pretend* our economy is going great guns here generating lots of job growth and prosperity is absolutely false.

I live in Michigan... Hardest hit state in America....  Come to Michigan and see how quickly you are able to find a job.

Or better yet....  Want to see the REAL Economy behind the Wall Street Rally?

Search for homes in virtually any city or small town in Michigan off this website.

www.moveinmichigan.com

From that website... Below is 5 small areas within Oakland County....... Scroll and be amazed how long it takes you to reach the end of the huge laundry list of Homes for sale...
I did this with a search of $100,000 - $250,000 homes.
