Someone on here a long while back postulated that you could predict jobless claims shifts by looking at google search usage as a leading indicator...

 

I found the approach intriguing at the time, and I gathered it was something that the person was continuing to research....

 

Given today's "surprise" jump in claims I'm wondering if that person has been keeping up with the analysis and whether they saw this "suprise" jump coming.

The only "surprise" is the fact that these incompetent boobs continue in a job predicting jobless claims. Just another example of total disconect from reality.
