Google Docs' infuriatingly awful new "look" is permanent

It's not just a look. It's an interface without a real scroll bar. It's ugly, it's irritating, and it's the only interface available on Google Docs. Does anybody have A) a plan for organizing to demand the old look back, or B) a free alternative to Google Docs that we can use?

If you're looking for something hosted online, I'm not aware of anything - there probably is something, I'm just not aware of it.

If you're looking for a free alternative to MS Office, take a look at OpenOffice. I used OO for a while and was pretty happy with it.  The interface is very similar to MS Office and it will read/write MS Office files (usually) seamlessly.

You could use something like Box net or Huddle Workspaces at LinkedIn to host files and get pretty close to the file sharing functionality of Google Docs.

Flea Bagger - I have used a suite of products by Zoho that is comparable to Google Docs. They actually have a great CRM product that could easily be used by small businesses instead of Salesforce
