And my stocks did'nt do much better,

Ba dum pump!

But seriously folks, this may be the correction that many have been calling for. If thats the case it would seem prudent to have some cash on hand for buying opportunities.

I normally don't follow the intraday, or week, or month fluctuations of Mr Market, but I do enjoy buying low. So if you can find quality companies trading at either fair value or less for the love of God please do so.

(Disclosure my powder is still dry, waiting for right opportunity :)

Hmm!

Looks like I'm talking to myself once again (lighten up people :)

It's getting late but I can research the uptick rule and the Glass Stegal act this weekend.

You know fellow Fools, I may just be a working stiff, but I can still research stocks.

The fact that I'm not a writer is obvious, so I'll shut up.

(Unless something is really funny :)

Keep your powder dry.

I heard that the only way to improve your writing is to keep writing.

So, what do you think you'll pull the trigger on?

Thank you for your kind words and please correct me if I was wrong about the acrynom. alas the memory fades with age...

I would be buying more of my two favorite stocks-

V-visa under $75

BRK-B- berkshire hathaway under $70

Nothing fancy there, but in my mind last year was the time to get cute and make a bundle, this year is more about preserving capitol.

I'm still waiting for the next qtr on my trifecta of Chinese stocks to come in (either I will be wildy sucessful or fail in grand fasion)

CCME,HEAT,NEP

blesto,

A couple of months ago I ran a screen of high yielders.

Not suprisingly- T and VZ were sporting a 6.5 div.

But as I read the balace sheets I came to the conclusion the dividend would not be sustainable, and they would certainly not be raising the dividend ( If T does so that seems like corporate suicide , and you'll find yourself in a Ge situation)

This is probably 2 yrs away. Still something to check out.

Thanks for the ideas.

The "t" stands for talent. Something I lack in my CAPS picking experience, but am always on the search for it in companies I may actually want to buy.

Have been trying to dig up info on a Shipbuilding company called Austal. Home operations in Australia, but I believe has several shipyards worldwide.

If were talking about the same stock my inclination would be to run away. It was really hard to find the finacials of this Co., and when found, I was not impressed.

Shipbuilders are not something I follow, so someone with Naval experience would be better suited to write this up (Dude you should do a blog on this)

One thing I found strange was that in the corporate website they stated that their defense vessels were not suitable against enemy attack. Makes sense Aluminum has many advantages but strength is not one of them.

Again thats just my quick first impression. I guess it all boils down to whether they beat Lockheed out of the contract.
