When I first signed on as an HG member, I was not convinced about the the MF, so I did not take the time to add personal info. So now as I have had more time to spend, I went back and filled in some personal data.

I reached the part where they ask for a great book recently read, and I thought everyone here knows about the books from Fools School, so I decided not to put them in, and realized the last great book I read was Fast Food Nation. But that was 3 years ago, and it was 7 years old then.

I love to read. Now I have been busy with raising my kids, soccer and science projects etc. etc. etc, but three years and almost no books? How is that possible? The answer stared back at me, silent. The bulb of understanding slowly brightened. (Because the instant understanding of incandescent bulbs is to costly and innefficient so I use flourescent and thats why I'm so slow) I realized I have been reading. I browse Common Dreams every day, I often check Inside Iraq, I found the Snowsuit Project and read the captions under the pictures.

All of these places are more like magazines though. Informative, short, to the point and with new characters every week. A book takes time, it is there every night. It waits for you to come visit.

Blogs are like books though. Some are collections of short stories, some are longer.

Some of the best ones are here. One of my favorites went something like this

Ha ha ha ha hahahahah haha ha ha ha

I laughed at it myself.

So with all that said, I would like to share with you all the best "book" I have read recently. It is a weblog started in 2003. It has characters that you can care about. They have good days and bad. Days when there is hope, and days of despair. The link I am supplying is to the first month of the story. Chapter one is at the bottom of the page.

I hope you will enjoy meeting Riverbend as much as I have.
