Seriously. Enough is enough.  Boot em. They don't pay taxes (43% delinquency).  They want to retire at 50.  They want to riot because they will have to work and pay taxes.  Boot em.  Let the lazy, corrupt country fend for itself.  End this saga.  End it now.

Maybe the EU is going about this the wrong way.

Instead of forcing even more austerity, which they will not be able to implement enough to ever meet their needs to get out of debt, maybe the EU countries should each set up one manufacturing plant in Greece, export the end products to their own country, and thereby raise the GDP.

Maybe a combination of restructing the overall Greek system ( if it can truly be said that they actually have one ), showing them how to set work rules that can really work, set up a tax collection system that doesn't rely on the union controlled electric system, hire the majority of the workers for the new plants from the younger Greek population and teach them the work ethics of the Germans and others, push vacations in Greece among the EU countries, and reduce the interest on the debt to a nominal 1 or 2%.

It's like someone caught up in a 25%+ credit card trap, they will never be able to pay back the principal otherwise.

Don't know if this would actually help or not, but what they are doing now sure isn't, and the problem over time, will only get worse.

JMO and worth exactly what I am charging for it.

Isn't this a form of stimulus for the world?

If you cut them off, then wouldn't we experience a slowdown?  I thought that was what Bernanke said of making cuts.  Maybe I misunderstood him.

I guess the purported fear is that once Greece goes then it would be a domino effect for Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, etc..  However they simply aren't Greece.  The Greeks will never wind up complying with the bailout terms anyway because it means they would have to pay their taxes and work hard.  They will continue to dominate the headlines because the media needs something to hype.

Boot them and they will be forced on their own to make the changes needed to turn the Country around.
