Gun-Toting Financial Execs? Gun-Shy Consumers?
Quick article for Fool.com: Rumor has it that senior Goldman Sachs executives are packing heat. I joked about sticking themselves up in the piece, but then later remembered my article from last November, I Think We Just Got Mugged; actually I guess they don't really need to, eh? (Which I guess brings us right back to the idea that the public sentiment might lean towards rage and the resulting paranoia.)
The rumors about Goldman sound a bit "news of the weird," but retail tidings probably don't sound so weird at all under current circumstances. Some of us have been thinking a lot about Black Friday, the holiday shopping season, and so forth. So I guess it comes as no surprise: News Flash: Retail Stinks!
Another reminder, Fools: it's annual Foolanthropy time. If you guys aren't already aware, for every blog post and comment (on Fool.com and on the CAPS blogs) during the campaign (from now until Jan. 8), the Fool will kick in $0.10 to the campaign pledge (up to $20,000).
