Help us, Obi-Ron: you're our only hope

May 03, 2011 – Comments (3)

Partisan Democratic pundits are already spinning Osama's death as an excuse to stay in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Anyone who thinks that our long, national nightmare is nearing an end is fooling himself. Unless libertarians and Democrats vote en masse in the Republican primaries for Ron Paul, there will be no peace candidate, just two men with different visions for where our world war should go next.

Of course, a couple billions of dollars in welfare spending will keep Democrats from jumping ship, because Dr. Paul is an evil free market capitalist/strict Constitutionalist. Never mind that Obama has given hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to the super-rich, perhaps more than Bush. He's still a Democrat, and Democrats are still the most blindly partisan people in human history.

Replace "Democrats" with "Americans" and you have a more correct statement.

Turfscape - I don't want to paint with too broad a brush. How about this: Democrats are tied with Republicans for being the most blindly partisan people in human history.

Actually, Republicans are not so blindly partisan as they are blindly bloodthirsty. They can tell that Ron Paul, despite being a "Republican," will not kill enough foreigners to suit them. Then again, if they weren't blind partisans, they'd see that Obama is exactly like Bush, and they might vote for him in 2012, which of course they won't. In fact it is their blind partisanship that spells opportunity for those of us who truly oppose opprobrious war, if only we were more than 1/3 of the country.
