Happy Halloween, Fools!

Please read my analysis of DRYS and its risks here, rec it if you like it, and help ward off the demons of fellow Fools' speculative spirit by voting DRYS the scariest stock of all with a "Yes" vote in the article's poll. As always, your feedback and opinions on the company are welcome here when you return.

Thanks, Fools ... have a great Halloween!!

There are plenty of others...  AIG, C...  I can follow the DRYS concern, but at least if they go under they don't take much more than some dry goods with them.  ;-p

Actually, share price has little impact upon what is at risk for anyone building new positions today. A $5,000 bet on DRYS can still go to zero if the company falls prey to the kind of maritime financial catastrophe that Diana Shipping is predicting.

Whereas C and AIG are not likely to be permitted to fail entirely, DRYS has no such federal backstop.

More importantly, I'm losing in the early going, and need your votes. ;)

I guess I was thinking more in terms of a macro-economic sense...  The failure of a shipper might help buttress valuations of the others, but the psychological impacts of more financial turmoil would bleed into many other areas.

Besides...  Didn't the esteemed Mr. Economou once say that his largest shareholders were all computers in manhattan?

Believe you me, I'm not fan of him... and I'm growing less and less happy with his protoge' over at OCNF.  But there a bigger boogie men out there then greek oligarchs.

DBLE - Double Eagle is a US oil and natural gas producer with solid reserves in an energy rich area (adjacent to a project of Anadarko).

They recently won a major victory in the courts preventing an injunction, and the natural gas pipeline in the midwest is nearing completion just in time for the coming resumption in the rise of nat gas prices. I previously held this stock from $14 to $27, and here it is near $14 again.... I think it's a screaming buy at these levels, and it could easily double in 2008!

Maybe its a SCREAMING buy (now), you think?
