still by far my largest position is good old EMC.
Largest holding as in real portfolio; real money? You must really like EMC.
Whats your outlook and strategy on EMC? I own EMC shares; do you think it's still worth buying more at todays price?
and where do you see it going in terms of stock price?
And finally, I will try again...I own IDT and its been doing well. I think i remember in the past you talking about IDT as well. Are you still a fan? Where do you see it going?
An update on IDT is in comment #10 here. I really don't know all that much about IDT and I did take some profit. I still hold the larger part of my IDT position. And yes, EMC and IDT are "real" positions of mine, the "fund" is just a "virtual fund" showing how I would act as a fund manager.
The EMC story is really simple I think if you feel "comfortable" with the VMW exposure you get (you still hold around 0.16 VMW shares via each EMC share you hold, I think). Unless there is some major takeover (hopefully of VMW or EMC with a decent "premium", hehe ...) you can probably keep your EMC shares for a few years.
So if you are "in the green" with your EMC position just sell a few shares today ...
thanks Port..but you wouldnt feel adding to EMC positions today?
No. But I guess my advice mostly depends on how much EMC exposure you currently have. Having a few % of the stock portfolio in my favourite stocks like EMC, ATPG, QGEN, AIXG, ... should turn out to be a good idea.
