Latest update in the search for the Higgs boson.
I have posted a few related things between the usual biopharma stuff here.
Biopharma equity has been the best sector "in the past few months" and may well be the best one "in the next few months". Most people around here still ignore or hate it, I am afraid. Well, at least you can't really blame me ...
I'm very excited about the finding of the Higgs, or, as CERN was careful to put it, the 125.3 GeV (+/- 0.6 GeV) new boson that totally destroys the Standard Model if it is anything other than a Higgs boson.
However, I can't see that being investable any time soon!
Biopharma scares me; I don't feel like I have enough capital to get widely diversified enough to feel confident of catching the one winner to offset the nine losers. I like a nice cyclical sector bet instead; US housing has been doing pretty good "the last few months," my fund (ITB) is up 35% since I bought it. For a longer term play I am incredibly bullish on natgas at today's prices.
here is a good introduction to the higgs boson
another interesting blog from porte
it wouldn't be the first time they thought they discoyred the higgs
actually, i think they really did it this time
ikkuy2, you are a smart guy, i think you can figure this out
