How Much is FDA Approval Worth?

Apparently quite a bit!  A little company up in Canada (those darn Canucks!) have done it again.  They came up with a non-invasive way to detect tumors and such and have been selling their technology in Europe, Canada, and other parts of the world. Their imaging technology is used in the early detection of the prevalent cancers including breast, prostate and colon cancer.

Today the FDA has given clearance to VeraLook(TM), iCAD's computer-aided detection product used in the interpretation of virtual colonoscopy exams.  Now as a 50 something male this is very exciting news to me!  Not only do I have a great investment in a small company whose stock is exploding, but I may also be able to utilize their technology to detect prostate cancer and avoid a "traditional" colonoscopy!

My husband will be thrilled to learn about this company since he was hoping that technology would make this procedure obsolete before he had to get one! (He's in his early 40's) His co-worker who is in his 50's or 60's just had to undergo one yesterday, poor man!

I added a position to my RL portifolio. I wanted a smallcap that was not a fly-by-night company. Thanks for the info.

You are quite welcome.  I have a small position also, but this is a volatile stock so you may have to hang on to the shares for a while before you realize some profits.  If the price drops below $2, which is quite possible, I may add to my position.

I'm willing to wait awhile. I'm hoping this will be another ISRG. According to Schwab portifolio profiling I'm an aggressive investor whatever that means. I have enough dividend blue chips to anchor my portifolio (3M, I love you) so I allow myself some volatility.
