How the "experts" picks really performed

Today is the annual Ira Sohn stock conference where famous investors divulge some of their best ideas to others who have donated to this charity.  I always like hearing the ideas that come out of the conference, but it's difficult to keep track of how the picks actually do.  Well, someone has tracked the results of the 2011 picks for us.  Here's an interesting article on the subject.  Not surprisingly, to me at least, some of my favorites like Bill Ackmann, Joel Greenblatt, David Einhorn, and Steve Eisman all did reasonably well.  Some others, such as some dude from Sabertooth Capital did downright horrible.  From the looks of the picks, I am not surprised to see that Sabertooth Capital is now in liquidation.

I'm sure that our SPOPS team is sifting through the ideas right now.  Here's a link to the great article about last year's picksthat I mentioned:

Thanks for reading everyone.  Have a fantastic day!

Thanks for sharing. Einhorn only broke even (1 good pick, 1 bad pick), and Ackmann only made 1 pick (which did OK). Faber did not do well at all - not that anyone listens to him anyway.  Eisman did a little better than a dart-throwing monkey.  Michael Prince will never be my FA!

If the so-called "experts" did that poorly I don't feel so bad!
