Winner! Those of you who guessed correctly. This post is about H.R.1207, and since David is not here, I'll mention it again. As most of you know this is a Ron Paul bill to remove the restrictions from the GAO's ability to conduct a FED audit that has gotten a lot of support. Congressional support from Republicans (almost all of them that are left) continues to grow and there are now also thirty Dems.

The left is also taking the remainder of Congress and President Obama to task on this issue;

Why is the administration fighting this? Well, it's no secret that Larry Summers would very much like to take over as Fed Chair when Ben Bernanke's term is up next year. Why would he want that kind of scrutiny? But what Larry Summers wants and what is good for the country may be two different things.

Please join me, Glenn Greenwald, Naomi Klein, James K. Galbraith, Dean Baker, Bill Black, Tyler Durden of Zero Hedge, Yves Smith of NakedCapitalism, US PIRG, Public Citizen, Mike Farrell, Digby, Rob Kuttner, Ian Welsh, Bill Greider, Stirling Newberry, ANWF, Les Leopold, Mike Lux and others in supporting Alan Grayson and asking Democratic members of Congress to cosponsor the Federal Reserve Transparency Act.

Where does your member of Congress stand? Find out here. And if they aren't one of the 135 Republicans or 30 Democrats cosponsoring this bill, why not?

You can reach your Congressman at 202 224 3121 and tell them you would like the H.R.1207 passed. (And if you can think of anything to say about healthcare...)

I can think of a few things to say about healthcare...but since you are supporting possibly the best bill to pass through congress in nearly 100 years along with me...I just be quiet about healthcare for now...

Nice post man. Thanks for the support.

My Rep is there.  So are 3 others from my state, but I hope to reduce that number by one fairly soon.  My choice for our next fiscally responsible governor is one of the other three supporting this bill and he can do a lot more good here than in DC.  We can send him back later, promise!

Cross your heart, Mary?

Hey devoish, I'm genuinely glad that you and I agree about something. (And you disagree with Obama, too! ...Maybe. But wow!)

I like the video. It makes me feel a little sick to see Barney "There is no housing bubble" Frank sit in the elevated seat of chairperson, though.

Thanks, I didn't know about this bill, but my rep, Lenoard Lance is on top of it.  I will email this information to my friends and family.
