If we had taken all the cash spent on iraqiranafghanistan war in the last 4 presidencies and bombed iraqiranafghanistan for twenty years with a long list of

paper
pencils
stamps
spoons
shovels
vegetable seed
waterhose
korans
More waterhose
cardboard
string
wire
nails
screws
condoms
plates
bowls
books
hammers
rakes
hoes
saws
chessboards
bricks
toiletpaper
scrap computer parts
marijuana
pots
pans
knives
bolts of cloth
needles
thread
rope
etc
etc
etc

We would have spent less money, made more friends, opened up markets, increased production, bombed less churches, and killed less children.  We would have broke the entire global terror network, increased the standard of living of the majority of the worlds population, and cemented americas position as world leaders.

We could start today, and would have the same effect.

Now give me my Nobel Peace Prize.

WITH YOU on this one. Turns out the weapons of mass destruction was the debt load for this unecessary Iraqi leg of the war. FAR better spent on chasing Osama and otherwise on our great country.

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then.”.....Jefferson

Maybe you don't realize this, but books, pots, wires, and shovels hurt like hell when bombed.

Also, I think dropping marijuana, condoms, the Koran, rope, and a shovel onto someone's property may lead them to get the wrong idea.

Otherwise, swell vision.  Too bad we give medals and important titles to old men to think otherwise.

I disagree. They pass all those things out for free in this country and people are still pretty ticked off.

I want to put in a plug here for a military unit from East Tennessee that is currently stationed in Iraq.  What are they doing?

Fixing schoolhouses, repairing bridges, rewiring the electricity in buildings, putting the country back together again so that as we leave, we leave a country that does not look like it just got hit by a manmade disaster.  I'm proud of these men and women.  They are taking the risks of being there and they are greatly missed by loved ones at home, but they are leaving behind something tangible and positive.

Huh?  Your list sucks.  Although I agree with providing some sort of aid, your list sucks.  You're anger over how much insight and planning went into the wars has blinded you into committing the same mistake before making your list.  Your list sucks.  Scrap computer parts?

You start with:

"If we had taken all the cash spent on iraqiranafghanistan war"

and end with:

"We would have spent less money,......."

I think if we took all the cash, and spent it on those things, it is still spent.  Everything after the comma is pretty much spot on though.
