I survived vegas, I survived Goldman Sachs, I survived texas, and I found a new hobby

Well fellow CAPsters, I made it home from Vegas in one piece and, again, they let me through security there despite the horrible stench of evil emminating from my clothing.

I took an interesting tactic this time and went with no bag.  Just a laptop case.  Since I had no room booked I figured it would be the best option.  lol.  

I drank heavily, set a record for largest bartab in my vegas career (its reasonable, frankly, to think of Vegas as a career.  You just try to make each season better than the one before).  I AVOIDED THE BOOBY BARS!!!  yay!  As per my usual I tried my best to treat the staff at my various watering holes well and made some friends.  

I had drinks at a pool for the first time in my life, I offered the host $$$ to get some 60 year old lady to put her bra back on, and he didn't actually go ask her, but god I wish he would have.  

I had dinner with a local girl, she was awesome, I was hungover.  I had to exqueeze myself halfway through on account of needing to sleep off the hangover to attempt to carry on for a third day.  I basically failed to carry on for said third day.  I don't think she was impressed with me going home half through dinner, oh well.  I'll offer to make it up to her one day. 

I visited Texas to meet with a hedge fund that I think may actually have a useful strategy.  Maybe for the first time since early April 2009 I will have some money managed by someone other than me.  I am excited about that.  Texas is better than real life.  Real life involves speed and motion and noise and Texas just doesn't have those things.  

GS tanked the market today.  Long overdue tanking.  I made a fair bit of money betting on GS getting pinned to 160.  One of my very first short term trades!  And I won, yay!  my tiny, tiny position in IWM puts expired worthless despite the tank.  

I haven't added any new positions lately.  I like PFE here...  it may go lower, but its a good buy right here right now.  And its a good buy lower.  

And I've decided that, as I am a custodial parent, and as such am parental about 4-5 nights/week, on the remaining 2-3 I am going to travel.  You only live once, and I am going to take my free time in the forseeable future and just go places.  In the US, meet people, make friends, and see what thats all about.  

godspeed fellow capsters, I promise you are missing out when you don't come to Vegas when I am there!
