I just got on to peek at lunch and the first news I see is that Iceland's currency is on the verge of collapse...
And not too long ago...Iceland Sovereign Bonds were selling like Hot Cakes!!!!
So much for Russia saving the economic world, I have heard that one recently...
Kinds of like the China is going to save the economic world belief...
This makes me so sad, the Icleandic people are so nice. I loved the palce when i spent a summer there in 2006. :-(
Anchak is correct. Icelandic bonds were being touted as "ultra-safe" at 12.14% earlier this year...I wrote about it in this Fool article from February.
Don't you mean "meltdown"...
Iceland may be on the verge of collapse, but dwot is top fool again...congrats!
i knew that letting bobby fischer in was a bad move. so to speak.:D
"There are 15 active volcanoes in Iceland, including Mount Hekla, long believed to be the entrance to Hell."
For some reason the statement above reminded me of Dick Fuld. I have no idea why, but it just did.
Well, both of their major banks just declared bankruptcy. Did anyone expect anything else? This might be a good topic for CollegeFinance101.com
Dwot - keep up the good posts
