So the state of Arizona is going to repeat the fate of Rome, so to speak, unless they criminalize the Hunnish invasion? How about instead if you just try, heresy of heresies, to actually carry out the laws that already exist? These laws already give you all the full power to deport the illegals, whose names, addresses, and driver licence numbers you know very well but choose to pretend that you don't know.

70% of people in Arizona support the bill because they're sick and tired of illegal immigrants and the federal government is not doing anything to protect the Arizona border.

Even with the new law only the Federales can deport anyone. This deal gives local cops the authority to approach, screen & apprehend. Unless they're actually convicted of a real crime, they're going to the INS.

Meanwhile the supremes could end up tossing the whole thing but until then the locals can now push back at the street level in the really troubled areas. And there are some really troubled areas.

Some of the finest people I met there were among the migrant population - along with some of the biggest doooshbags (spelled in the Jersey pronunciation:) so I'm on the fence w/it all; but then I'm not a local AZ cop either.
