Idiot of the day: Associated Press Writers

October 09, 2009 – Comments (1)

That the Nobel Committee has long been reduced to just another political organization is not a secret to any attentive observer, but the party line still requires to keep up appearances. An open admission of its political motivation by the Associated Press goes against the party line, and it was an obvious blunder on the Prezident's part to describe the Nobel Committee in similar terms

"OSLO – President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday in a stunning decision designed to build momentum behind his initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim worldand stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism.Obama said he was surprised and deeply humbled by the honor, and planned to travel to Oslo to accept the prize, which he said he does not see "as a recognition of my own accomplishments," but rather as a recognition of goals he has set for the United States and the world."

Yes, John Solomon has long been a tool of liberals and an arrow in Obama's quiver.  And the AP's description is an authorative source on the rationale behind the choice.

Come on zloj, what you just saw was stupid wording by the AP combined with a highly unexpected Peace prize award.
