Investing for Global Warming

August 02, 2010 – Comments (3)

It seems like a lot of places are seeing new record highs and it seems that it may affect food supply.  I just saw this story on Russia and how fires and unrelenting heat is driving the price of wheat way up again.

If I remember correctly, when the prices were up a couple years ago it was causing huge problems for poor counties to be able to afford enough wheat to feed their population.

I am thinking investments related to the food supply and good access to water are going to do well over the long term, but first I think investments are in for a rough ride as the commercial real estate problems ripple through the economy.

dwot, do you have any thoughts on Sprott Resources (TSX: SCP)?

they have a stake in one earth farms.. and they operate farmland  in Canada.. so that's food supply with good access to water

Lol Chris, I don't think so.  At the 60th parallel I am as far north as I'd care to live.  But, it was nice last to get up in the night and it was dark.  Where I was the sun was going down around 10:30-11 at night, but the twighlight was preventing it from getting dark.  The latest I was up was about 1 am, still light out and the earliest I was up was around 4 am, still light out.  But, their days are declining fast now so night is returning.

peachberrytea, I haven't looked at Sprott for ages.
