On an unrelated musical note, I got to be a judge at our Intern singing contest. They sang various patriotic songs in honor of the 4th...fortunately, all three groups tied and we had a Michael Jackson-themed tiebreaker.  Congrats to Peter Khanahmadi for bringing it home with his rendition of "Heal the World"...It's a great day to be a Fool!

Back to the 30th anny of Sony's (NYSE: SNE) Walkman.  Fellow Fool Rick Engdahl unearthed this article about a 13-year old boy who did the electronic version of camping -- trading in his iPod for a Walkman (for a week).

Sony's market dominance fell away.  Will Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPod/iPhone suffer a similar fate or will Apple continue to innovate and dominate the musical landscape?  Let us know in the comments section.

PS...since this is a music post, I'll give a plug to AOL music...specifically, the Pop Remixes channel.  For posterity, the current song playing is Natasha Bedingfield's "Love Like This" [Johnny Vicious Radio Mix].
