The very fact that I am incensed over www.gamespot.com  giving Mass Effect 2  a 9.0 rating speaks volumes about something really important.... 

is ERTS kicking ATVI's butt?  And those invested in ATVI either need to add ERTS or sell ATVI and buy ERTS?  whatever?  I mean ERTS??? <-------

Ok let me make things quick and simple.

A)  I have yet to play Mass Effect much less Mass Effect 2.... but I am reading the reviews and seeing this title for what it is.... A PERFECT 10..  and nothing less.....

THIS IS HOW GREAT GAMES ARE MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So wake the heck up GAMESPOT......  User Community has this at 9.5.....  anytime you see a stark contrast of .5 or more from a Gamespot editor's scoring..... guess what?  It means yet again the writers of GAMESPOT are absolutely out of touch.

I don't care ... that they gave the game an Editor's Choice Award.. and I do not care about the ratings JANUARY effect where a reviewer lacks the balls to give the first AAA title a PERFECT 10 because it's JANUARY.......

Get off your rear ends... and if you care at all about video gaming.... buy MASS EFFECT & MASS EFFECT 2.....

Cause you know what?   I am going to do just that this weekend.....

Forget PLAYFISH....  As long as ERTS  has BIOWARE.....   ERTS is *better* than ATVI.

It just is....

This is a CATALYST folks.... take ERTS's earnings outlook and flush it down the toilet.... Their own outlook for themselves smacks of absolute travesty...  I mean I heard of "promise low....deliver high" but ERTS is promising abyssmal sales.... and they have some truly OMG!!!!   titles....starting with this one!  and don't forget:

SIMS 3  expansion packs coming out starting in February!!

ERTS continues to take advantage of the iPHONE....

Flat out.... forget the horrible earnings numbers of past quarters.... ERTS is a must buy.

Come on????  What's so superior to a game like Grand Theft Auto IV to a game like Mass Effect 2 which is innovative as heck and excels in every aspect of video game design from music, sound, artwork, storyline, chracter development, gameplay, and intense battles??

I've personally do not remember seeing so many eyepopping PLUSSES on the PLUS side of the Score Sheet for Mass Effect 2 on www.gamespot.com  before..... this does not happen except for the absolute rarest of the rare....

This stuff isn't seen except for HALO 1..... HALF-LIFE 1......
DOOM 1..... You know the classics of the classics....

And sometimes..... The SEQUAL is just plain better than the
1st iteration.

Look at the following titles that have generated as much excitement and surprise and huge praise as MASS EFFECT 2 is generating..all of which have been given perfect 10s...at least by reviewers other than Gamespot if not Gamespot:

A) ALPHA CENTAURI     firaxis games
B) The SIMS 1
C) SIM CITY   <-- the first 1
D) DOOM 1
E) QUAKE
F) HALO
G) HALF-LIFE
H) The 7th Guest
J)  Elder Scrolls Oblivion
K) Grand Theft Auto IV
L) Elder Scrolls Daggerfall
M) World of Warcraft
N) Everquest
O) Ultima Online
P) Diablo 1 & 2
Q) Starcraft
R) Command and Conquer
S) SYSTEM SHOCK 1 & 2
T)  Call of Duty Modern Warefare 1 & 2
U) FORZA Motorsport 1 & 2

I mean.. the list goes on... these are the CLASSICS....the titles that are the Rarest of the Rare... All of which can not boast greater praise in more categories than Mass Effect 2 is getting.

Mass Effect 2 excells simply in all areas....just as the above games do...  And ergo.... perfect 10.

Same goes for some titles below most people never heard of:

1) GRIM FANDANGO 
2) MONKEY ISLAND   1
3) TETRIS
4) SUPER MARIO BROTHERS (all of em)
5) METROID  (all of em)
6) ZELDA (all of em minus Zelda 2... Zelda 2 was a miss and was actually titled Adventures of Link)
7) Final Fantasy (all of em minus #8)
8) Phantasy Star 4  as it is by far superior to the rest of em.

9) Super Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Virtual Fighter
10) Chrono Trigger/Cross
11) ILLUSIONS OF GAIA <---- how many heard of that one??

Get the point???  Look up these and 90% I am betting show up with greater than a 9.0!!

Comparing the games is irrelevant.  ATVI has $3b in cash sitting around, is breaking sales records, and they've got a firm grasp on the MMO market.  As far as companies go, there's no comparison.  Now if only the stock would behave..
