What projection?  I've only seen reporting on the past.

I think the college education bubble is one of the next ones to burst. I have a friend who just graduated w/ 40k in loans from Sallie Mae. They won't consolidate his loans for him (hoping to drive him to another lender). He called his bank, BAC, and CITI.. The numbers to student loan lending had been disconnected at all 3. I sent him to 2 college loan consolidation places. One would only do federal loans and the other quit consolidating period. Were he to loose his job I'm almost positive that $700/mo payment would stop flowing.

College is overpriced and doesn't provide the ROI it used to. It should be evidence enough that you can't work and pay your way through a 4y school like you used to. Legislators are already looking at the no default laws that allow lenders like sallie mae hold former students by the balls until they pay. If these lenders get fearful (which it looks like they are) then they will write shorter loans and less people will take them.

This will cause the prices of college to come down unless Obama & Co further subsidize it and let every HS dropout into college in which case the degree will be worth even less causing the cycle to enlongate but continue.
