Is Geeknet GKNT at turning point of creating significant shareholder value from the geek culture surge and pending Yahoo! del.icio.us spinoff* ? Can Langone, and Collison maximize shareholder value given an existing and disruptively conducive infrastructure handed to them on a silver platter?
*Geeknet's Feedery.com and Slashdot.org [should] be beneficiaries. The concern and question shareholders should be asking is Scott Collison's failure to create shareholder value with Geeknet's 5/2009 $2.6M acquisition of ohloh.net (Scott Collison CEO, Ohloh) and 16 months later dumping ohloh.net as a $1.4M Asset Sale (Scott Collison, VP Product, Geeknet) and then awarding Scott Collison $2M for continuing patterns of shareholder value destruction and conversely, and with all due respect, his failure to create shareholder value with the Geeknet media assets ( SourceForge.net, slashdot.org, freshmeat.net, feedery.com).
