Practically every city in America is on the brink of bankruptcy...especially if you factor pension liabilities.......the government is running a deficit that the income generated by every citizen and coroporation is simply insufficient to sustain.....

Business has slowed so much that corporations are not going to hire back the millions of workers they just fired any time soon....

U.S. employers’ hiring plans for the third quarter held at a record low, signaling fired workers will have to wait many more months to find a job, a survey showed.

Now what are we going to do with tens of millions of unemployed and underemployed Americans with little change of generating an income???????

It's time for change!!!!!!

War is what got into this damn thing. We spent billions in Iraq financing killers who killed women and children. Iraqis still hate Americans and why shouldn't they. We would love Iraqis if they invaded the U.S.?

I tell you what the problem is. The problem is that the rich is TOO rich in this country. I give you an example.

I live in Los Angles and I used to have a clothing company in L.A. garment district. I had a store and my rent was $3500/month. My land lord owned stores on the whole street, over 200 stores, he also owned about 100 stores in Melrose Ave. And about 200 stores in Beverely Hills. He also owns mane apartment building in Palos Verde and Newport Beach. He owns some super markets, 2 private gyms and owns 12 parking structures in and around L.A.

I know all this because after my business went bankrupt (because of the high rent) he hired me to work for him as a book keeper.

Now half of the stores on the street where I used to have my store are empty because the tenants just couldn't make end's meat. Does this capitalist care at all? NO. The reason is he has another half that pays so much in rent that covers any money he would have lost otherwise.

I work with many rich rich people (they have CASH from anywhere from 100 million to 1 billion) and they really really don't care what is going on. They are breaking the horse's back and they live so comfortably and their money is still increasing sooo much that they don't even care if 2/3 of their stores stays empty.

A rational person would rent those stores at lower rates so some people could make money and live, but every rich person I have met is anything but rational. They are extremly lucky, greedy, stupid, selfish, cheap people.

I don't see any way that we can get out of our economic problems unless we have a revolution against the very rich.

Or we should just stay in our homes or stores unless they force us out with pure force.

I think beside a revolution ( and this suggestion is very close to a revolution) we should just grab what we want like the rich did in one point or another. Just go and live in an empty house and don't pay any rent or mortgage, don't pay rents, don't pay taxes, don't buy anything but food from costco. That's it!

You define "federal assistance" very broadly.  Let me ask it a different way:

What percentage of working age americans are NOT on federal assistance of some sort AND what types of jobs does this group of people have?
