It's time to DUMP your underperforming Stock and Buy What Works!

June 27, 2008 – Comments (2) | RELATED TICKERS: TRA.DL , CHK , SID

I just got fed up with "GENC" Gencor.    It never stopped bleeding.  Pathetic stock.  Worst mistake.

I threw the cash left over straight into Dividend Heaven:  (TRA)  Terra Industries  :  Fertilizer!

So... Here's my voice to help calm your Panic and Fears and Trepidation.

Don't hesitate...Don't think about it.     LIQUIDATE your worst performer and buy a good performing
Stock that is in the following sectors:

OIL & NAT GAS    (to include drillers and those that sell technology to discover oil, etc.)

Investors are absolutely barn storming every stock that isn't in those sectors (give or take some a sector I might not be aware of that's might be doing well).

DO IT NOW!!!!!       My portfolio is up $300 as we speak after I sacrificed my worst performer today.

I think that while those are great sectors to be involved in, a lot of the major players are overbought right now and in the midst of a short term correction. For example a lot of the Bakken related companies like KOG and BEXP have had minor corrections even as crude breaks records. You definately don't wan't to be buying in at a top.

On another note, what happened to your score? You were all-star a couple of weeks ago, but your accuracy has taken a huge hit. Is this a byproduct of rebalancing your CAPS portfolio?

Greetings DarkToast,

Apparently so!  I have had pretty much no clue how to play this silly CAPS game.  *sigh*

I just wanted to throw out the bad apples in my CAPS portfolio and keep the good ones.  I'm full of green in my CAPS but I am burdoned my dumping all of my misses.

I am done rebalancing my CAPS portfolio and will just sit on what I got for the remainder of the year pretty much.

Anyhow.... You are right in a way but you have to realize that this OIL CRISIS will last at least through August.   I see no reason to do anything but dump money into those sectors (no matter what) for the time being.

I just gained $300 in my real life portfolio.

Another thing to realize is that you can collect Dividends on the Good Dividend paying stocks in those sectors so that helps you cope with price corrections.

In the meantime.... With DEMOCRATS (Environmentalists) dominating the United States of America like they seem to do, I see no reason to believe the OIL and NAT GAS story won't continue for another decade or more.
